Joe Biden gets vaccine on live TV after Jill, Internet says 'if they promised Trump sticker, he'd get one too'
On Monday, President-elect Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden received their first doses of the coronavirus vaccine. During the live telecast when Biden received the vaccine, he said, "I'm doing this to demonstrate that people should be prepared, when it's available, to take the vaccine." Referring to President Donald Trump's team's effort, Biden said, "I think that the administration deserves some credit in getting this off the ground, Operation Warp Speed," and added, "There is great hope. I am doing this to demonstrate that people should be prepared when it’s available to take the vaccine. There’s nothing to worry about."

At this time, he informed that Dr. Jill had received her shot earlier in the day and it was also informed that both Joe and Jill Biden would need another dose before the inauguration set to take place on January 20. The President-elect received the Pfizer vaccine at ChristianaCare Hospital in Newark, Delaware. Others who have got their shots in the past few days include Vice President Mike Pence who received the vaccine on another televised appearance, members of Congress, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
In response to Biden's decision to get vaccinated, Twitter users have shown great support. One Twitter user wrote, "This is what leadership is all about." One user thanked team Warp Speed and wrote, "Thanking those who have struggled. Congratulating the current Admin for Operation Warp Speed. Class and leadership." There were also tweets about how the US finally has a leader, who is presidential. One user wrote, "Such grace, dignity, compassion, humanity, and diligence. Finally... “Presidential” is back."

Then of course there were tweets about Trump, who is yet to announce if he will be taking the shots and Twitter users have definitely not missed this. One user wrote, "@JoeBiden #covid I like the black. It’s a good look, Mr. President. might as well take the title now, while orange man issues EO on architectural styles for federal buildings. Because." Another user wrote, "Maybe if they promised Trump a sticker, he'd get one too." Another user wrote, "Thank you, Mr. Vice President/President-Elect. There is so much disinformation out there. Show, don't tell. Do, don't talk."

It must be noted that the Pfizer vaccine is the first one to have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), however, the Moderna vaccine, which was the second vaccine to have received approval for emergency use across the US was also given from Monday.
