Man who was fat-shamed by Trump 'forgives' him after he left a voicemail, says he still loves the president: 'Everything's good'

Talking about the incident, Frank Dawson said he has no hard feelings against the president and he ‘loves’ him
UPDATED AUG 17, 2019

President Donald Trump was forgiven on Friday, August 16, for fat-shaming one of his own supporters at a MAGA rally on Thursday, August 15.

According to Mail Online, he mistook his supporter for a thin protester who was one of a group of three who waved anti-Trump banners before being escorted out.

"That guy has got a serious weight problem. Go home, get some exercise! … Got a bigger problem than I do. Got a bigger problem than all of us. Now he goes home and his mom says, ‘What the hell have you just done?" Trump had said.

Talking about the incident, the Trump fan Frank Dawson said he has no hard feelings.

"Everything's good, I love the guy!" he was quoted as saying by Fox News.

He added he had no ill will toward the president, despite the fat-shaming remark.

Spin reported that Bloomberg White House correspondent, Jennifer Jacobs had noted, the protesters were actually quite svelte, but the Trump supporter who called security on them was “a big, broad-shouldered guy.”

On Friday morning, the TV show 'Fox & Friends' interviewed Dawson, a retired U.S. Marshal and Navy veteran from Woburn, Massachusetts, and he was completely unbothered by Trump's behavior.

He said: "[Trump] didn’t see me rip the signs away from those three people sitting near us. They were trying to cause a ruckus and they jumped up and started yelling. I don’t care what they were yelling.”

He added: “It wasn’t going to happen besides me. I’m trying to listen to my president. I think he thought I was part of it, but I wasn’t—I was the good part of it."

"He's the best thing that ever happened to this country," Dawson added.

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman tweeted saying that Trump left a voicemail for Dawson claiming that he was body-shaming someone else.

Trump's remarks had surprised many as he himself was medically obese.

His previous doctor in 2018 put him on a diet and training regimen that was meant to help him lose around 10 to 15 pounds over the course of the year, but reports revealed that he had gained four pounds instead.

The president is known for indulging in greasy fast foods including KFC and McDonald's.
