'Perfect Harmony': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and everything you need to know about the NBC comedy series

Starring Bradley Whitford, 'Perfect Harmony' is a new musical comedy series all set to roll out on NBC. The series, which features half-hour episodes, centers around finding inspiration in the most unlikely of places. 

Sharing her inspiration behind the series, show creator and executive producer Lesley Wake Webster shared her inspiration during NBC’s presentation at the TCA press tour, “I grew up singing in church choirs, going to church. My grandfather, who Bradley’s character was modeled on, was a choir director by trade… at the end of his life, he was living in rural Kentucky, my grandmother had passed away, and he got to a very dark place."

Release date

The series is all set to premiere on NBC every Thursday at 8.30/7.30c starting from September 26.

Plot

The official plot summary reads: "When former Princeton music professor Arthur Cochran unexpectedly stumbles into choir practice at a small-town church, he finds a group of singers who are out of tune in more ways than one. Despite the ultimate clash of sensibilities, Arthur and his newfound cohorts may just be the perfect mix of individuals to help each other reinvent and rediscover a little happiness, just when they all need it most."

Bradley Whitford

Bradley Whitford plays the role of Arthur Cochran in the series. The actor portrayed White House Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman in the NBC television drama 'The West Wing', for which he was nominated for three consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards from 2001 to 2003 and won in 2001. The role also earned him three consecutive Golden Globe Award nominations.

Anna Camp

Anna Camp plays the role of Ginny in the comedy series. The actress is known for her recurring roles in the television series 'Mad Men', 'The Good Wife' and 'The Mindy Project'. 

Other actors in the cast include Will Greenberg as Wayne, Tymberlee Hill as Adams, Geno Segers as Shep, Rizwan Manji as Jax and Spencer Allport as Cash.

Lesley Wake Webster, who is known for her works on 'Speechless', 'Life in Pieces' and 'New Girl', is the writer and creator of the show. The series has been directed by Jason Winer. Webster and Winer are executive producers on the show along with Bradley Whitford, Jon Radler and Adam Anders.

Set to be distributed by NBC, it has been produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Small Dog Picture Company.
