'Peaky Blinders' Season 5: Will Michael Gray and Gina Gray betray the Shelbys to take sides with Oswald Mosley?

The first episode of 'Peaky Blinders' Season 5 reflected on the presence of a 'Black Cat' within the family and the mystery has still not be solved.

'Peaky Blinders' is in its fifth season and there is much chaos and confusion as Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin) are at loggerheads with each other. The first episode reflected on the presence of a 'Black Cat' within the family and the mystery has still not been solved.

While Tommy has more important things to focus on, there might be a strong possibility that he could be betrayed by his close ones. In the fourth episode, Gina Gray (Anya Taylor-Joy) shared a mysterious glance with Mosley at the ballet party. There was much hubbub around why Michael's (Finn Cole) wife looked at the politician and what the hidden connection between the two is? The scene barely lasted for a few seconds but managed to raise strong suspicions of impending betrayal.

The fifth episode did not show much involvement of Michael Gray and his wife in the family's affairs and the two seemed to be quite aloof. Ever since he returned from New York, Michael has been quite cut off from the rest of the members. That seems to be a strong indication that he could shake hands with the Shelby family's enemies.

At the moment, it is Mosley who needs more allies in the kinship and he could have struck a business deal with the couple. In one scene, it was clear that Michael and Gina would do anything to earn more money and Mosley could take advantage of that.

A Reddit user reflected on the scenario and posted his observation. "Michael held onto stocks and got fucked by the market crash. So, many pieces finally come together. I'd bet a good amount of money that it's Gina and her affiliation to Mosely, there's a reason they are keeping Michael x Gina meeting and marrying in some sort of recap as a secret currently. Mosely is an enemy, and that look Gina and him gave to each other at the ballet made it all the more obvious. It's so damn obvious that Gina is the black cat, I'm surprised I haven't seen more spoiler warning posts regarding Gina as the black cat."

As the final episode comes out on September 22 on BBC One, it will be interesting to see whether the couple embraces their blood or betrays the family for wealth.
