'Peaky Blinders': What has Tommy done now? Fans are wondering who could be dead in the fifth season
When it comes to the dingy neighborhood in Birmingham, someone has to die by the order of the Peaky Blinders.
BBC One's Birmingham-based gangster drama, 'Peaky Blinders', is still shooting for the fifth season but that has not kept the showmakers from giving fans glimpses of what they can expect from the upcoming season which will release in late spring, next year. The clips shared on social media show some of the behind-the-scenes moments from the show, and the latest image shared by photographer Ollie Whickman from the set reveals that someone is about to die in the fifth season.
Among the many questions that fans are discussing, one fan came up with the most generic query about "What has Tommy done now?" Death is a common phenomenon in the show, and Thomas Shelby's red right hand has always had blood on it, with either blood of an enemy he has killed or the blood of someone close who was killed. The Steven Knight-written show follows the infamous Birmingham gang from the early decades of the 1900s when they were led by the Shelby family. As the middle son of the family, Thomas, played by the sensitive yet ruthless looking Cillian Murphy, the clan leader saw a steady growth in power in the fourth season where he managed to crown himself as the leader of the Communist Party and eventually a Member of the Parliament.
Certainly, with this immense power, Thomas is now the ideal prey for his enemies, and Knight had earlier discussed that this time the show will have a villain coming down all the way from Glasgow, "We have someone playing a fictionalized version of a real Glasgow character who was around in east Glasgow, Billy Fullerton. The man who ran the Billy Boys. Truth be told the Glasgow gangs were pretty much the most feared so I thought it was time we went north of the border. It’s due to be aired in late spring. It’ll be the best yet.” The scene posted on Instagram probably indicates a murder committed by the Billy Boys, and it does look like the body is lying at Shelby's house.
Another fan stated, "Either that girl is dead or Tommy had a wild night cuz there seems to be another girl on the couch." The scene has set the mood for the fifth season when Thomas will be seen as an active Member of the Parliament, and we can expect that the troubles have only begun. A father to a new son, and now the President of the Communist Party, Thomas has a lot on his plate, and the scene clearly states that things are not going to be pretty for the sad-eyed anti-hero. Fortunately, there are some new characters coming in, who will be played by Sam Claflin, Anya Taylor-Joy, Brian Gleeson, Neil Maskell, Kate Dickie, Cosmo Jarvis, and Emmett J Scanlan, and it can be expected that some of them will provide a helping hand to Tommy.
