Who is Patrick Mateo? Olivia Munn thanks Internet for helping nab New Yorker who attacked her friend's mom
Asian American actress and television show host Olivia Munn thanked the internet for their help in tracking down an assailant who attacked her friend's mom, following which armchair sleuths rose to the occasion, aiding the NYPD in identifying the man, Patrick Mateo, who was arrested and charged with assault and harassment.
Munn, 40, had asked the Internet for their help in tracking Mateo, who was taken into custody after a video emerged of a suspect violently shoving a 52-year-old Asian woman to the ground on a New York City street. "This is the guy you guys helped @nypd find and arrest,' Munn penned on Twitter along with a video of the incident. 'This is him attacking my friend’s mom who is a petite 5-foot-3 Chinese woman. F**k this guy,' she added. 'The internet is undefeated. Thank you thank you thank you," the tweet said.

Who is Patrick Mateo?
Patrick Mateo, from Queens, New York, was picked up by the New York Police Department on Thursday and charged with assault and harassment, according to TMZ. Cops say they responded to a 911 call Tuesday for an assault outside a bakery on Roosevelt Avenue, which was caught on surveillance cam.
The video shows Mateo throw an item at the woman outside New Flushing Bakery, located at 135-45 Roosevelt Ave., a major thoroughfare, at around 2 p.m. He then grabbed the woman, the Chinese mother of Munn's friend, with both hands and pushed her a few steps backward. He then aggressively flung her to the ground, following which he turned around and walked away. Police said the victim suffered minor head injuries and was transferred to Booth Hospital by EMS. The woman's daughter, Maggie Kayla Cheng, in a post on Facebook, said her mom was pushed 'with such force that she hit her head on the concrete and passed out on the floor,' according to Daily Mail.

Munn used social media to shine a bright light on the case."My friend´s mom is a 5´3' 50+ Chinese woman and she was attacked,' Munn wrote adding: 'She left the hospital with 10 stitches in her head. We’re gonna find this guy. Queens, Internet, please... do your s**t."
Mateo, 47, has been arrested. There were no charges against Mateo indicating that the crime was racially motivated. The victim’s daughter had claimed online that Mateo had used racial slurs leading up to the incident.
