RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA: Police have found the body Emily Montgomery, a young mother who had been missing for weeks. The 26-year-old disappeared in late November following which a search operation was launched by Apex police on November 27. Investigators also charged her boyfriend, Jose Carlos Jacome-Granizo, with murder on December 2. On Saturday night, December 19, the 26-year-old victim’s body was found near the 7300 block of ACC Boulevard in Raleigh in an industrial area near Brier Creek. But it’s not known what led police to the area where the remains were discovered. Officials have sent the body for an autopsy to the state medical examiner's office in Raleigh, WRAL reported.

According to the official reports, Montgomery was picked up by the 29-year-old accused on November 25 night from her home. Jacome-Granizo was allegedly taking her to Thanksgiving dinner at his mother’s home. On the same night, Emily reportedly sent a text message to a friend saying that things between her and Jacome-Granizo were not fine. A message from her read as stated by search warrants, “She was going to kill Jose before he killed her.” Another message said, “It is going to happen he is going to kill me first.” Montgomery’s mother also reportedly received a message that stated she was going to check into detox. But her mother found the text suspicious since it did not provide any explanation.

Police interrogated Jacome-Granizo on November 28 during which he told investigators that when he along with Montgomery reached his mother’s house, the woman did not go inside with him saying she had not done her hair. The accused entered the home but when he came outside half an hour later, Montgomery was nowhere to be found.

However, the warrant has provided a completely different story citing the pair’s cell phones data, which stated that they were together after the visit to Jacome-Granizo’s mother's house. “This disproves Jose’s story that he was not with Emily when she left his parents’ home,” the warrant added.

Eventually, a search warrant was obtained to search the suspect’s Jeep Wrangler. In the vehicle, a huge amount of blood in the front seat of the vehicle was found by the police. Following the discovery, Jacome-Granizo was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder. Currently, he is being held at the Wake County Jail without bond. The warrants also mentioned that the man had beaten up Montgomery once in September, according to Montgomery's mother. The woman had a five-year-old son. “She love that kid more than anything. That was her whole, entire world. That was her motivating force for everything in life,” friend Jamie Boyd said as reported by WRAL. While her mother said she "was excellent at everything she did ... She was a pure joy ... There are countless memories of how proud she made me." On December 5, the grieving mother also took to Facebook where she wrote, “I’m devastated and just want to know where my baby is.” Police have not released any further information related to the case.
