Nicole Scherzinger's Instagram hacked with link to 'sex tape' amid talks of Pussycat Dolls reunion tour

A doctored image of the 41-year-old singer wearing nothing but an unbuttoned white shirt was also posted on her page

Singer Nicole Scherzinger became a victim of an Instagram hack over the weekend when a fake photo of hers was posted on her social media account, with hackers threatening to release her sex tape.

A doctored image of the 41-year-old singer wearing nothing but an unbuttoned white shirt was posted on her Instagram page on Sunday, with the caption, "Go to my Story > Swipe UP > DOWNLOAD a FREE App > releasing my full SEX Tape at 5,000 Downloads!"

Her bio was also changed to read "My SEX TAPE" with a link below. It is not clear what the link led to.

Although both the alterations were rectified within the next half an hour, the fake image was already "liked" by thousands of fans. Regarding the latest hack, Scherzinger told the Sun: “It’s been horrible. I genuinely don’t understand why someone would do something like this, or why they would leak it. It’s an unbelievably mean thing to do.”

The hack came months after an intimate video of her in bed with her ex-boyfriend Lewis Hamilton was leaked online in February. The short clip showed the two of them kissing and cuddling in bed and was viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

On Monday, the Sun confirmed via an anonymous source that Scherzinger had signed a multi-million-pound deal forThe Pussycat Dolls reunion tour around the world. "Nicole has long turned down offers for a reunion but with the ten-year anniversary of their hiatus passing, she finally said she was ready. Nicole was made a multi-million-pound offer to re-join the group and was given a huge advance which made it impossible for her to turn down," the insider said.

Apart from Scherzinger, the tour would also include The Pussycat Dolls' Melody Thornton, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, and Jessica Sutta. The official announcement of the tour is expected to be made in the next few months.

"The tour is going to be huge and the group will be playing their greatest hits. But there has been talk of the possibility of them recording new music," another source added.
