Round 1 of the NFL 2020 Draft is well and truly underway. Louisiana State University (LSU) quarterback Joe Burrow was the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft Wednesday night and was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals. Fifteen minutes later, "RIP Burrow" was trending on Twitter with fans feeling for the QB.

"There was no excitement there at all from him! poor kid!" read one of the tweets. "That's what he gets for going to LSU," said another fan. "Another talent going to waste," reckoned one of the fans. "He’s never gonna win with that dog shit franchise," opined a fan.

One fan tweeted an image with a caption that read: "BREAKING: In a shocking turn of events, Joe Burrow has announced his retirement from football." What followed was a barrage of tweets from fans who were quite unhappy that Burrow was not in the Bengal camp. "Watch him be another Andy Dalton, Bungles don't know how to develop QB," said a fan. "Announces retirement" goes under "Joe Burrow," tweeted a fan.  According to The Guardian, the quarterback threw for seven touchdowns in LSU’s playoff game against Oklahoma and ended up throwing for 60 touchdowns last year.

"Joe Burrow will be a bust. Mark my words. Never forget this tweet," read a tweet. "Sh*t I need to go play for the Bengals," was one of the expressions. "The state of Ohio just be banned from picking amazing QBs in the first round.. #manzelfan #bakerfan," wrote another.

ESPN Twitter posted a reaction clip of Burrow after he was selected by the franchise and most fans claimed the QB was shocked and unhappy. "He does not look happy," 'Joe Burrow deserves better," and "He looks so depressed" were some of the other tweets that were doing the rounds even an hour after his picking.
