NFL Draft 2020: Los Angeles Chargers select Kenneth Murray in Round 1, thrilled fans say he's a 'STEAL'
In Kenneth Murray, the Los Angeles Chargers go for one of the best remaining defensive players during Round 1 of the NFL Draft 2020. Fans were happy as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
"Chargers finally get a good draft pick and waste the pick on some bust. By the way, the Patriots are the best drafting team in the NFL. They don’t need a top-three pick to find good talent. Enjoy watching the Patriots dominate this decade," tweeted a fan. "HOME RUN," exclaimed another. "Another great pick!" seconded a fan after Murray's selection.
"A STEAL OF A MAN! Enjoy him Chargers fans. He is going to be a great one for you!" wrote a fan. "Congrats @KennethMurray I am PROUD of you!! I told YOU, you would be a GREAT middle linebacker! #trusttheprocess #conquertheworld" tweeted a fan.
"Great first day of the draft. Very pleased!", "Steal of the draft!!!!" and "Welcome to the family" were some of the common tweets. "I watched every down Kenneth Murray played at Oklahoma. Great young man. But always a little disappointing as a player, especially in big games. Plays extremely hard can fly sideline to sideline. But just tends to get lost and drop out of sight for stretches. Now, he's a Charger," said sports columnist, Skip Bayless.
This tweet spoke volumes about the pick: "Somewhere behind the athlete and person you've become and the hours of practice and coaches who have pushed you is a little boy who fell in love with the game and never looked back... Today was for him. Congrats @KennethMurray!"
The Los Angeles Chargers' other pick was Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon. Spread across three days and seven rounds, the 2020 NFL Draft will begin on April 23, Thursday, at 8 pm ET and go on till 12 pm ET on Saturday, April 25. Here's the official schedule:
