'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star NeNe Leakes has landed herself in another internet controversy, after she posed with her new boyfriend on her birthday bash, barely three months after husband Gregg Leakes' tragic death from cancer. On December 13, 2021, the reality star celebrated her 54th birthday with close friends and family, after her son threw her a surprise party.

She later posted photos from the bash writing, "This year i didn’t want to celebrate my birthday in a big way! I just wanted to chill wit a few love ones but my fam would NOT let it be that way! My son decided to throw me a surprise birthday party! This is the first party he has ever thrown me! He did so GOOD! Love you @kingbrentt Not to mention, this is the 3rd gathering I’ve had this week😩 I love all of y’all for loving me and making sure am good during this time❤️." While the RHOA star did not address the dating rumors on her post, insider sources revealed that she was indeed seeing a businessman named Nyonisela Sioh. In fact, the two of them posed next to each other in multiple photos from her birthday, prompting fans to put 2 and 2 together.

NeNe Leakes' husband of many years, Gregg Leakes, tragically passed away from colon cancer on September 1, 2021. NeNe and Gregg first got married in 1997 but divorced in 2011. The couple then remarried in 2013. They share a 22-year-old son, Brentt. Before his cancer relapse, NeNe had publicly accused her husband of cheating, sparking speculations that they might be in an open relationship. However, in his last days, they buried their past differences and she stayed by his side.

After his death, NeNe released a public statement through her rep, saying, "Today, the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones, and wife NeNe Leakes."

And now it appears that NeNe is taking another shot at romance as she has grown quite fond of her new beau Nyonisela Sioh. The two were introduced via fellow RHOA star Cynthia Bailey's ex-husband Peter Thomas. Sioh originally hails from Liberia in Africa but is presently settled in Charlotte, North Carolina where he owns a couture suit brand. The pair struck a pretty picture together at NeNe's birthday gala in Georgia's Linnethia Lounge. 

However, RHOA fans are not quite happy with NeNe moving on so quickly, especially given the tragic circumstances of her husband's demise. The TV icon was unabashedly shamed by judgemental netizens, one of whom tweeted, "She was probably already dating. She's just gone public with it."

Another remarked, "I mean, she could’ve waited until the new year out of respect. We all know she’s been doing her on the side, but for her son’s sake she should’ve waited a bit to be public with it."

"Whaaat???? I guess There’s no year of mourning anymore. Oh well," tweeted another. 

Another sick troll wrote, "Hmmmm. Speaks volumes of her character. O wait.....that word character is now obsolete."

However, loyal fans of Nene jumped to her rescue and gave fitting clap-backs to the internet trolls. "Life has changed these days, she's still human and needs to have someone to cry on and also make her happy," a fan commented. 

Another said, "Good for her! She needs all the love and happiness she can get and if that man gives her that, then kudos."
