'The Voice' Season 19: Jim Ranger gives emotional performance, fans say 'if you didn't cry something is wrong'

From melting the fans' heart like butter to leaving them choked up, Jim Ranger's performance evoked a range of emotions amongst fans

After winning seven seasons of 'The Voice' as a coach, Blake Shelton is determined to continue riding high on his success as a coach on NBC's hit singing competition show. So, before his team members finally got to the live stage, Blake had one last chance to further fine-tune his team to try and win the current season too. For the knockouts round, he paired Jim Ranger with Jus Jon.

With the help of mega mentor, Usher, the coach trained both his team members. While Jim Ranger chose Tim McGraw's 'Humble and Kind', Jus Jon went with Bruno Mars' 'Finesse' as his song of choice for the knockout performance. In the past, Jon had been compared to Usher by the coaches for his charisma and style, so he was a bit anxious and nervous about performing in front of his idol. But Jon managed to wow Usher with his vocals and stage presence.

On the other hand, Jim chose the 'Humble and Kind' song to honor his father's memory, and as a message to his kids. Considering the strong emotions and memories he has associated with the song, it was visible in his performance. Usher and Blake couldn't stop praising Jim's performance. After some rehearsal, both the singers gave their final performance for knockouts round.

Although both the singers gave a brilliant performance, the coaches couldn't stop raving about Jim's heartwarming performance. They praised him for the beautiful message behind the song and choked up a bit when he explained to them that the song was a message to his children to be humble and kind, and not feel entitled. The coaches praised Jon's high-energy performance too. It finally came down to Blake Shelton to pick the winner fo the knockouts round, and he instantly went with Jame.
