House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had apparently made small tears and rips into her copy of Donald Trump's State of the Union address so that she could have the perfect speech-ripping moment.

While POTUS was introducing the cancer-stricken radio host Rush Limbaugh, Pelosi was seen grabbing some pages off the table and making a tearing motion. She made small rips and then placed the pages back on the table. Pictures of the sheets of paper show them laying face down with small slits on the side. Click to watch video here

According to Vice President Mike Pence who told 'Fox&Friends' on Wednesday, it seemed like Pelosi had planned on ripping up the speech as "it felt like such an immediate moment."

We had previously reported that her actions had drawn criticism from many Republican supporters and commentators. The night kicked off with tension in the air after Trump refused Pelosi's handshake ahead of his speech, handing her a copy of the address and then ignoring her outstretched hand.

Trump's speech went on for around an hour plus 20 minutes where he made promises about medicare, praised the American economy, the assassination of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani, and more. It ended with him promising a bright future and insisting that "the best is yet to come".

However, his speech was overshadowed by Pelosi who dramatically ripped up her copy of the address and threw it a couple of inches behind him.

Pelosi, however, defended her actions to reporters waiting outside, calling Trump's speech "dirty." "I tore it up," she said. "It was the courteous thing to do considering the alternatives. It was such a dirty speech."

"Once again, President Trump was not truthful about his actions in court to destroy pre-existing condition protections. The manifesto of mistruths presented in page after page of the address tonight should be a call to action for everyone who expects truth from the President and policies worthy of his office and the American people," she had said.
