The premiere episode of Season 4 of 'My Feet Are Killing Me' aired on Wednesday, May 4, on the popular channel TLC. If you haven't watched the episode yet then brace yourself as the details are quite gory!

Today's episode saw a seemingly painful yet easily one of the worst cases of bunions that Dr Bradley Schaeffer has seen in his life! His patient, Dana Carl, came into his new practice to seek professional help on a major medical issue; her feet. Coming from an athletic background and being a runner, Dana explains to Dr Brad how difficult her life has become because of the major hindrance at her feet. In addition, Dana also said she doesn't show her feet to anyone anymore, probably because she's embarrassed at how they look.

'My Feet Are Killing Me': Here's how Dr Brad tackled Danielle's dancer's feet

After a thorough physical examination of Dana's feet, Dr Brad says that her surgery is going to be complicated, as is the case in such medical issues. So what's his plan of action to help her get back on her feet?

The doctor breaks down the procedure in layman's terms. For starters, the team will have to begin with incisions on one foot, to create fusions and figure out where the big bunions on Dana's foot are. After that, it's just a dissect and remove procedure, so as to align the bones on her toe area and remove the excess bunion.

For the procedure, the team drills a plate and screws it atop her foot to hold the bones in place. However, during the painful procedure, Dana's bone cracks into two, causing a fracture! Soon after, Dr Brad carefully uses another U-shaped plate and screws to secure the broken bone in place and succeeds. This sure wasn't something he was expecting, worst-case scenarios considered!

After several hours of effort by the doctor, Dana's left leg gets stitched up.

Fast forward to three months since her life-changing moment at Dr Brad's clinic, an ecstatic Dana shows off her left leg; the bunion no longer exists! Dr Brad too is happy with the progress and advises Dana to come in when she's ready to have her right foot operated on as well.

Season 4 of 'My Feet Are Killing Me' airs every Wednesday, at 9 pm ET, only on TLC.
