'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' Season 11: Fans call Whitney Thore 'disrespectful' for giving away mom Babs' wedding dress
GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA: Whitney Thore was seen finding out more about her mother, Babs, in 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' Season 11.
In the recent episode, Whitney was seen planning a party for her father, Glenn, in Babs' honor.
Whitney was seen giving away her mother's wedding dress to one of her friends. She brings a box of things filled with Babs' stuff to her friend who is getting married soon and says, "So, you get to wear my mother's dress."
Her friend shouts in excitement and says, "I can't fit in that." Whitney replies, "You sure can."
Fans felt Whitney had made a spectacle out of Babs' death and was doing these things not to mourn her, but for the sake of the show.
In response, a fan commented, "I don’t understand how she thinks it’s okay to have someone wear her mom’s wedding dress. If I was Glenn I would be upset. Let Babs rest in peace."
Another said, "It seems like it’s just for tv . It’s like she doesn’t want you to grieve. And just to let you know, she is not grieving her mom. She is taking the role of making you better."
Another claimed, "The wedding dress thing is bizarre. No one should be wearing that dress outside the family, and especially so soon after Babs died. It’s super disrespectful."

'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Glenn Thore reveals life without Babs has been 'difficult'
As fans trolled Whitney for giving away Babs' wedding dress, Glenn took to the comments section to clap back at the trolls.
He wrote, "I just want everyone to know that my life without Babs has been really difficult as you can imagine."
Glenn continued, "The love we had was one of of a kind and her passing has caused me unimaginable grief."
He added, "The surprise tribute that Whitney planned with her friends for me was a very wonderful evening for me and I needed that!"
He thanked Whitney by stating, "Remembering how special Babs was will never leave my thoughts. Whitney thank you for the tribute you put together!"
He further stated, "This was one of the happiest days I’ve had since Babs passed. It was an amazing party that honored Babs in every way. I can’t wait for everyone to see it."
How did 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Babs Thore die?
Babs died of cerebral amyloid angiopathy on December 7, 2022. She had several strokes due to the condition.
She started having strokes in 2017 and the last one she had was on November 13, 2022. After mother's death, Whitney took to Instagram to pay tribute.
She wrote, "Dad, Hunter, and I held her as she took her last breaths. It was 10.32 pm, the same exact time she brought me into this world almost forty years ago."
How is 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Glenn Thore coping with Babs' death?
Glenn was left disheartened after Babs died. He was seen losing his will to live. However, Whitney wanted her father to find reasons to live and asked him to make a to-do list.
Glenn will be seen getting a tattoo, indoor skydiving, swimming and reconnecting with long-lost daughter Angie as he tries to comes to terms with Babs' death.
