Tonight’s (April 29) episode of TLC’s ‘My 600-lb Life’ takes a look at Alicia Kirgan’s life following her appearance in Season 6. The 32-year-old weighed around 622 pounds when she entered the show and went on to lose close to 180 pounds by the end of it.

The latest edition sees her living a different life as she’s shed more pounds since the show concluded. She’s only 200 pounds from achieving her goal weight, which would also allow her to undergo skin removal surgery, leading to further weight loss.

However, what headlined the episode was Alicia’s relationship with her boyfriend Tim Carter, which seems to be strained. As seen during her journey on the show, Tim was already bothered by her growing distant from him and seemed insecure about Alicia’s transformation.

Seven months into her weight loss surgery, Alicia goes to see Dr Nowzaradan to get approval for her skin removal procedure. However, her latest visit doesn’t serve her quite well as the doctor isn’t too convinced with the number on the scale.

However, when Alicia begins to justify her current weight using emotional issues as a reason, Dr Now realizes Tim’s insecurities are holding her back from pushing herself more to lose weight faster and efficiently.

He says with patients like Alicia whose cases are tough, the significant other needs to take control as the former continues to be bogged down by issues which could cost her sure, should they continue overpowering her goals.

Besides telling Tim to be more involved in his girlfriend’s weight-loss journey, Dr Now tells Alicia to start taking control of her own life to be able to lose those extra pounds that are stopping her from the next procedure.

He tells her to not go to bed until she completely analyzes what she did on a particular day, including what she ate and if the choices she made were helping her work towards her goal.

He gives her an extension of two more months to lose around 200 pounds to be able to undergo skin-removal surgery.

However, Tim feels his relationship with Alicia couldn’t have gotten better as the weight loss has helped them embrace each other.

‘My 600-lb Life’ airs on Wednesdays on TLC.
