Muslim school in UK does not allow girls to eat lunch until all the boys have finished theirs
An Islamic school in Birmingham reportedly still refuses to allow female students to eat lunch until after the male students have finished eating. The school has continued with the practice despite being told that it is unlawful, an executive from the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) told British MPs.
The Court of Appeal, in 2017, told the Al-Hijrah school in Bordesley Green, Birmingham to cease the practice immediately, however, reports state that the school has continued with it.
Ofsted's director of corporate strategy, Luke Tryl, on Thursday said that "very strict" gender segregating is taking place in the school which is "denying the girls to have their lunch until the boys have had theirs," the Daily Mail reported.
