'Música' Ending Explained: Heartbreak leads to Rudy following his passion in Prime Video's rom-com movie
Contains spoilers for 'Música'
NEWARK, NEW JERSEY: The young protagonist of Prime Video's 'Música' sees or rather listens to the world from a different perspective than others.
Produced by Mary Viola and McG, the film chronicles the journey of Rudy (Rudy Mancuso), who suffers from synesthesia, an unusual condition that causes his brain to interpret sounds as rhymes, thus making him easily distracted.
As the film goes on, Rudy gets caught up in a romantic triangle involving his four-year girlfriend Haley (Francesca Reale) and Isabella (Camila Mendes), with whom he immediately clicked as she understood his passion.
However, things take a dramatic turn when Rudy must choose between the two. So, who will Rudy choose? Will the girls eventually discover the truth? Now let's explore and find out.
Rudy's web of lies gets exposed in 'Música'
Rudy's plans to end things with Haley are jeopardized when he discovers Isabella in the same restaurant as him and Haley.
The arrival of his mother Maria (Maria Mancuso) makes matters even murkier, and the three of them interrogate Rudy.
Rudy's deceit is revealed in a dramatic turn of events, leaving the three women disappointed with him.
Rudy's attempts at reconciliation are turned down by Isabella
To cope with his heartbreak, Rudy hangs out with Anwar (J.B. Smoove) and drinks excessively.
In a moment of vulnerability, he enters a closet, and a flashback appears in front of his eyes, depicting his parents' fight.
When Rudy wakes up the next morning, he apologizes to his mother, who encourages him to do whatever his heart desires, and if it is Isabella, she asks him to pursue her.
Rudy, in an attempt to win Isabella's forgiveness, pours his heart out to her, and she shows him in the mirror that he does not value her.
While she appreciates his apology, she refuses to reconcile since she believes their relationship is doomed and completely breaks the cord to mending before departing with a final hug.
Rudy turns to puppetry for comfort in 'Música'
Rudy, like a heartbroken man, goes about his boring routine until one night he has the brilliant idea of giving his puppet Diego a female co-star and naming her Pepita.
He begins performing puppet shows on train stations that reflect his own real-life experiences, which become an instant hit with the public. He expands on that success by performing it on stage.
The final scene of the film shows him receiving a smiley on his takeaway food, reminiscent of the one Isabella had placed on his fish when they first met, along with a congrats note that reads, 'You took it higher,' implying that there is still hope for their reconciliation.
'Música' is now streaming on Prime Video
