This was the last thing American band Mr. Bungle would have expected when they announced last year that they would be reuniting for numerous shows in almost 20 years. At their performance at Brooklyn on February 11, a fan decided it would be a fitting send-off for his late friend if his ashes were thrown at the stage where the band was performing.

If you were asked "Where do you want your ashes when you die", a common response is "In the ocean" or "I want to be one with nature", and some people would like to have their ashes in places of memory like their own private property.

Well, this fan's friend must have had a fascinating love for Mr. Bungle, led by American singer-songwriter Mike Patton, and one can't argue at the epic levels of the act.

The fan's friend, Dakota Young, died unexpectedly and this was most likely not his own wish, but he and his friends had tickets to one of the Mr. Bungle reunion shows for the February 11 slot in Brooklyn, and his pals thought the stage would be the ideal resting place and determined they’d toss his remains there which were wrapped in a pair of his underwear, according to Metal Sucks.

The remains left a trail of dust in the air as it flew and landed onstage.

The experimental band has a cult following and is known for their highly eclectic style.

The band are not new to things being thrown at them onstage, but Mike Patton surely couldn't have predicted this one. There are no videos currently available on how the band reacted or even if they grasped what was happening, but there is a video of the ashes being thrown onstage while Mr. Bungle were performing their cover of 'Summer Breeze', a Seals & Croft song.

You can watch the video of the event below.
