Woman strangled two teen sons and tried to poison her other 4 children to hide incestuous relationship with half-brother
A mother who murdered her two teen sons and tried to kill her four other children was planning to have a seventh child with the man who helped her carry out the crime - her half-brother. MEAWW previously reported on how Sarah Barrass, 35, and family member Brandon Machin, 39, were arrested this past May after they murdered the former's teenage sons -- Tristan, 13, and Blake, 14, and tried to poison her four other children at their family home in Sheffield.
While the nature of the pair's relationship had remained unclear so far, the Sun is now claiming that Machin was, in fact, Barrass's half-brother and that she had downloaded an app on her phone that would help her conceive with him.
During their trial, Kama Melly QC, prosecuting, told the court that the pair had hatched a plan to kill Tristan and Blake, as well as Barrass' other children at least 10 days before the fateful day because they feared they would be taken into care and were "better off dead."
However, the Sun is stating that it was because they feared their incestuous relationship would be exposed.
Barrass and Machin had reportedly been having sex since their mid-teens and had six children together, including the two victims, who all called the latter 'dad.' They had somehow managed to keep the relationship a secret all this time and, despite plotting to murder their offsprings, were also planning for another baby.
"She wanted to conceive girls," a source revealed. "She had an application on her phone which told her when it was the best time to conceive a girl and get pregnant."

On November 12, both Barrass and Machin were sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 35 years. Authorities are now said to be investigating how the pair managed to have six children together without tipping off local authorities to their incestuous relationship.
