Mother's 'trusted' friend groomed son, 13, for sex while babysitting him, raped him and even had his child
A mother revealed how her friend seduced her teenage son, 13, and also had a baby with him while she was babysitting him.
The woman then accused the mother's son of raping her. Leah Cordice was sentenced to 30 months in jail in May after she had groomed and also slept with a boy, 13, many times between 2017 and 2018, The Sun reveals. The woman who was aged 17 at the time had groomed the boy with free fish and chips and also gave him "little treats" in exchange for his silence.
Cordice then gave birth to the boy's baby but claimed that he had raped her. The child's mother who has chosen to remain anonymous said that he has been "torn apart". While speaking to The Daily Star, the mother said, "Leah was a trusted friend of the family. She burst into my son's room while I wasn't there, while he was relaxing playing his games, and forced herself on him."
"She never tried it when I was at home, she knew how wrong it was. Leah is a tall woman, my son was a very small boy when the abuse began. It disgusts me," the mother added. She also said that she had even defended Cordice when the authorities first told her about the allegations.
She added that her son was too scared to talk about what had happened and so lied to the police. It was not until a friend of hers revealed to her that she had 'become a grandma' that she understood what had actually happened. "The room spun and I realized what she meant. Suddenly, it all clicked into place. My son admitted it straight away. [Cordice] warned him not to say anything to anyone. He was scared of her," she shared.
The child was found to be the father of the baby via a DNA test, with the baby now adopted. The boy's mother also revealed how her son was "devastated" about not being able to see his daughter. "Having my grandchild taken away, my son becoming a dad at such a young age – it’s been incredibly traumatic for us all," the mother added.
"My son will now only be allowed to meet his daughter again when she’s 18. It devastated him, he had a breakdown," she continued.
During the trial, the court was made aware of how Cordice had initially had sex with the boy in 2017 after she pulled his pants down while he was playing video games. The two would then meet up twice a month to have sex while Cordice would babysit the boy.
She would also send him many messages saying that he did not speak to her enough and also praised his social media pictures. One such message read, "I want to talk to you. I want a conversation. You do not talk to me. You are always acting blunt with me. I just want our friendship back. Your profile picture is cute by the way. It is cute."
Cordice's husband Daniel had found out what happening and had confronted the teenager but the sex continued. Daniel had initially believed that Cordice's baby was his. "It hurts like hell. I had an amazing life. Everything was going so well. I had a secure job, a nice place, a good relationship and a beautiful daughter. All of a sudden, everything I cherished was taken away — my child, my wife, my home, my job," he said while speaking to The Sun.
