A mother-of-two and former employee at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has reportedly won $1.5million in damages after she sued the fast food chain for gender discrimination.
27-year-old Autumn Lampkins of Dover, Delaware claimed in her lawsuit that the chain made it nearly impossible for her to pump her breast milk during her shifts. A jury entered a verdict in favor of Lampkins on Friday, awarding her $25,000 in compensatory damages and $1.5million in punitive damages. The 27-year-old was hired by KFC a few months after giving birth to her son in 2014. She was allegedly told when she was hired that breastfeeding would not be an issue at work.
