Mum puts up 2-yr-old on sale for sex, gets jailed for 40 years

A woman from Houston, Texas was arrested and later sentenced to 40 years in prison for offering to sell her 2-year-old daughter for sex at cost of $1,200. Sarah Marie Peters, 25, reportedly pleaded guilty to all charges, which included promotion of prostitution, according to reports.
Peters' crime was found out by undercover officers in Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable's Office, located at the north of Houston. The officers reportedly found her online on a social media site. The crime came to light after the officers launched an investigation into child exploitation.

The authorities said that the woman forwarded pictures of young girls and asked online if there was anyone who was interested in having "fun" with her 2-year-old. She even struck a deal with a man, who happened to be an undercover cop.
Reports state that the detectives watched Peters board a bus in Houston with her daughter. She was reportedly taking her to Conroe where she was expecting to meet the man who would pay for the child.

She was apprehended by the undercover police officials waiting for her at the Greyhound bus station and was arrested on February 22. Her daughter has been placed in the Child Protective Services' custody since.
Peters entered a guilty plea to at least three felony offenses: sexual performance of a child, attempted human trafficking and promotion of prostitution of a child, according to ABC7Chicago.
Reports state that Peters was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with additional sentences to run concurrently. The mother of the child will not be eligible for parole until 2038, according to reports.
