Everyone's favourite sitcom 'Mom' is returning for its eighth installment. The story of a single mother Christy, who is battling alcoholism and drug abuse by navigating her life and complicated relationship with her mother Bonnie, who is also a recovering addict, garnered an astounding viewership ever since it began back in 2013.

Season 8 is going to be different, as we won't be seeing Anna Faris' character Christy anymore. Season 7 of 'Mom' was the last one to feature Faris as Christy. The previous season ending with Christy going back to school to pursue her dreams of becoming a lawyer. Meanwhile, Bonnie decided to work towards having a healthy relationship with her husband Adam, a role essayed by William Fichtner.

The season concluded on April 16 and was renewed for another season soon after. The production of the previous season was stopped after the release of Episode 20, due to the coronavirus-induced pandemic, making it the season finale for 2019-20.

According to Deadline, Season 8 of ‘Mom’ will be addressing the absence of Faris' character.  The synopsis for the first episode reads, "When Bonnie invites the ladies to a slumber party, childhood games reveal adult problems." Before the show airs, meet the cast of the beloved series.
