The upcoming series between the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics on September 2, Wednesday has been postponed after one of the A's members tested positive for Coronavirus. The two sides were also scheduled to play a single game on September 26, and that will now change to a doubleheader as well.

According to CBSSports, the recent case makes Oakland the fifth team to have atleast one positive case during the season. The identity of the member was not disclosed, however, in what comes as a piece of good news, the rest of the members have reportedly tested negative after the initial test.

The MLB Press release on Tuesday, September 1, said: "Out of an abundance of caution and to allow for additional testing and contact tracing to be performed within the Oakland Athletics’ organization, the scheduled games between the A’s and the host Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park on Tuesday, September 1st and Wednesday, September 2nd have been postponed."

"There have been no other positive tests among A’s personnel following the initial positive test. A’s personnel who have not been identified as close contacts have been approved to travel back to Oakland today. Major League Baseball will continue to provide updates as necessary."

As far as updates for the Mariners go, they will have two new faces in catcher Luis Torrens and Infielder Ty France when they hit practice next. The two players were acquired from the San Diego Padres on Sunday, August 31, and were added to the offical roster on Tuesday, September 1, noon. The duo were acquired along with outfielder prospect Taylor Trammell and reliever Andres Munoz. The team is expected to get back to training on September 2 and September 3.
