'Mix Up in the Mediterranean' follows the culinary confusion that occurs when a small-time cook finds romance while impersonating his big city twin in a culinary competition. He falls in love with the woman in charge of the competition but this recipe for romance is complicated because she thinks he is the happily-married gay twin. 'Mix Up in the Mediterranean' marks an important leap in Hallmark Channel's programming as it features the channel's first-ever gay lead.

The Hallmark channel committed to more LGBTQ representation following criticism that their movies lacked diversity. Hallmark also received criticism after they pulled down an ad showing a kiss between a lesbian couple that was later reinstated following criticism. Let's now meet the actor who will play the first-ever gay lead role on Hallmark as well as the other stars of 'Mix Up in the Mediterranean'.
