Kieran Culkin, who played Roman Roy in 'Succession', has chosen an international project as his next acting venture

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It’s a day of grieving for ‘Succession’ fans around the globe as they bid goodbye to their beloved show once and for all. The journey is complete and the characters have left an indelible mark on TV with their performances. Be it Brian Cox’s loud-mouthed Logan Roy or Jeremy Strong’s messy yet sometimes domineering Kendall Roy, the show has given us characters to remember for ages. Among these characters is Roman Roy, Logan's middle child who is known for his delusional personality and fast lip service that includes some of the wittiest lines ever.

Roman is played by Kieran Culkin, an alma mater of the School of American Ballet in New York City. His brother is 'Home Alone' star Macaulay. Culkin's portrayal of Roman has earned him two Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. His ability to capture the essence of Roman’s insecurity has been lauded by critics all along. For now, his journey with ‘Succession’ may have ended but Culkin is all set to dive into a new international project to capitalize on his newfound fame.

What’s next for Kieran Culkin?

Culkin will now co-lead Jesse Eisenberg’s sophomore directorial effort, 'A Real Pain'. The film is written by Eisenberg, who also stars in this dramedy about two cousins who travel to Poland after their grandmother’s death to see where they came from and end up joining a Holocaust tour. Culkin has been on the job for over 30 years, having featured as a child artiste in ‘Home Alone’ alongside his brother. 

Culkin was a part of Edgar Wright’s cult romantic action-comedy film, ‘Scott Pilgrim vs the World', and even received a Golden Globe nomination for his role in ‘Igby Goes Down’ back in 2002. ‘Succession’ has given the actor a new lease on life and the actor is working hard to make it count. 

When will Kieran Culkin's new project release?

No release date has been announced for ‘A Real Pain' so far, but the film's shooting is expected to begin soon in Poland. Culkin wll spend some time with his wife and two children after five grueling years of ‘Succession’ and hopes to travel with them before he dives into ‘A Real Pain', no pun intended.
