Mischa Barton, 'The OC' star to set foot on 'The Hills: New Beginnings'
From the original cast, Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari won't be returning to the reboot of The Hills
Mischa Barton, the former 'OC' star, revealed she will be joining 'The Hills' along with Heidi Pratt, Spencer Pratt, Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Jason Wahler, Stephanie Pratt and Justin Bobby. However, lead cast members Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari won't be returning.
The 32-year-old never made an appearance on the original reality show which followed the lives of young people living in Los Angeles. The show ran from 2006 to 2010 and Barton said that this reboot was "irresistibly inviting" according to Mirror.
Barton said: "When MTV approached me with the chance to be a part of the reality show that was inspired by The OC, it felt like the perfect opportunity for an irresistibly inviting new chapter." The actress revealed her return through an Instagram video while listening to Natasha Bedingfield's 'Únwritten', the theme for The Hills.
Barton was laying low and her return is the best news 'OC' fans could hear. Her character on 'The O.C.' of Marissa Cooper became quite popular among teens. Her complex and moody character, clubbed with an impeccable fashion, spoke to young girls and everyone wanted to be her. We missed you so much, Misha!
This will be her second reality show after 'Dancing with the stars' which aired in 2016. 'The Hills: New Beginnings' was announced in August 2018 at MTV's Video and Music awards with most of its previous cast members and is set to premiere in 2019.
