Minnesota man accused of groping at least 10 children kills wife suffering from Alzheimer's 'out of mercy' to 'help her get to heaven'
A Minnesota bus driver who had previously been accused of groping at least 10 children killed his wife by slitting her throat "to help her get to heaven". He then slit his neck in an attempted suicide but would survive only to get arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
According to The Grand Forks Herald, 72-year-old Harvey T. Kneifl, a former bus aide on a route for pre-kindergarten and special-needs children, cut the throat of 72-year-old Julie A. Kneifl on the night of Wednesday, January 30, and watched her bleed to death before trying to kill himself.
The crime came to light after officers performed a check at the couple's home in the St. Therese of Woodbury Senior Housing Complex on Thursday to uncover the whereabouts of Harvey, who had been scheduled to appear at the Washington County District Court in Stillwater for the groping charges.
