The father-of-three had allegedly strangled his wife Quee to death at their Newport home in 2012 and he now faces 25 years in prison
UPDATED AUG 6, 2019

LOS ANGELES: The search for multi-millionaire Peter Chadwick has come to a close after four long years.

Chadwick, 55, was accused of murdering his wife in 2012.

As per reports, he was caught in Mexico and brought to Los Angeles on Monday morning.

According to footage which was obtained by CBS Los Angeles, Chadwick was seen being escorted from LA International Airport. He was then driven to Newport Beach Police Department.

The search for Chadwick had peaked last year after he was put on the US Marshals 15 Most Wanted Fugitive List post vanishing in 2015.

US Marshals revealed that the father-of-three had allegedly strangled his wife Quee to death at their Newport home in 2012. He then reportedly disposed of her body in a dumpster.

When Chadwick was questioned by the authorities, he had allegedly claimed that Quee had been kidnapped and killed by a handyman.

However, the detectives found his story very questionable after seeing scratches on his neck and dried blood on his hands.

Quee's body was later found inside a trash bin in the San Diego County.

On October 12, 2012, the father of three was arrested. MEAWW had previously reported that Chadwick was charged with murder which he had confessed to in jail.

Chadwick pleaded not guilty and was then released on a $1.5 million bond and had to give up his passports.

When his court date arrived in 2015, he had disappeared and could not be found.

The police then reached out to the US Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force to try and catch Chadwick.

When they looked into his whereabouts, they came to find that he had emptied his bank accounts of millions of dollars.

The US Marshals were also made aware that Chadwick had allegedly been reading up on how to change his identity and "live off the grid".

His case had got a lot of attention after the police released the true-crime podcast titled 'Countdown to Capture'.

If convicted, Chadwick faces a maximum of 25 years to life in state prison.
