'Million Dollar Listing': Tracy's colleagues call Scott Gillen 'neurotic' for employing strict hygiene rules
New Castle, Scott Gillen's massive $75 million mansion, is now Tracy Tutor's responsibility. Her impressive pitch and marketing strategy to help sell it off got her the biggest listing ever and if Tracy shines in this one, she may have the chance to acquire the rest of his properties in the area, which means a $500 million portfolio. "To have a $500 million portfolio that I could potentially get, that means something like $10 million in commission to me. Major," Tracy said in her green-room interview last week.
However, every developer has a set of quirks. Scott's is he wants the property to be as pristine as possible and therefore, wants people visiting the property to stay off surfaces, and of course, no shoes allowed. As Tracy begins the showing, James Harris, David Parnes and Bobby Boyd arrive and are surprised that Scott is so particular about the house and even call him "neurotic." Tracy, however, defends him and says that he only wants the mansion to be "immaculate".
The New Castle features over 8,500 square feet of outdoor deck space, a solid walnut bathtub that contains heat like no other, an 11,000 square-foot main house that boasts of five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a cigar room, a gymnasium, an attached spa area and a two-bedroom guest house as well. It's understandable why Scott would go to such lengths to protect the house. Anyone visiting cannot eat or drink on the premises, which is fair as it runs the risk of staining.
Clearly, Scott is someone who is aware of his surroundings and is extremely particular about how the house is and intends to keep it that way. But all things considered, Scott may have gone a bit far with his idiosyncrasies while testing Tracy before hiring her. He was unsure if she would do a good job and was trying to push her to the edge with his demands, which a section of the viewers found weird with some even calling it an unnecessary display of arrogance.
