Naomi Osaka

Tennis star Naomi Osaka, who is also the co-chair of the Met Gala 2021, arrived hand in hand with her boyfriend Cordae. She honored her Japanese and Haitian heritage with a colorful Louis Vuitton ruffled dress, paired with a bright-red Obi belt and bold makeup. Though the look was snubbed by many for being too bizarre and haphazard, it did uphold the multi-cultural spirit of the event.

Allyson Felix

Allyson Felix made a grand entrance and stole the show in her gorgeous Kim Jones gown. The Olympian track and field sprinter traded her running shoes for heels and looked divine in the pastel blue high neck dress with a peekaboo neckline. It was adorned with over 240,000 ostrich feathers and crystal beads.

Simone Biles

Star gymnast Simone Biles has been at the center of controversy and criticism ever since she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics 2020 for tending to her mental health. However, the athlete seems to have developed a knack for ruling the red carpet. A day after her stunning appearance at the MTV VMAs 2021, Simone Biles attended the Met Gala 2021 in an 88-pound three-layered dress, designed by Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk of Area. The dress comprised a glittering and starry black catsuit worn with a mini dress, over which she sported a massive hand-embellished skirt adorned with Swarovski crystals.

Emma Raducanu created history recently by becoming the first British female tennis player to win the US Open in 44 years. The 18-year-old athlete made her Met Gala Debut on September 13 in a printed monochrome look by Chanel. Her dress comprised a cut-out at the waist adorned with a bejeweled pearl belt. Special mention

Ciara

Though not technically an athlete, NFL wife and singer Ciara's Met Gala 2021 dress was a nod to her husband Russell Wilson — the NFL star with Seattle Seahawks. Ciara donned a shimmering neon green dress sporting Wilson's jersey number 3. The long-sleeved Dundas gown was cut out on the sides while it also had dramatic shoulder pads identical to NFL jerseys. She sported emerald green eye shadow and carried a Wilson's Super Bowl ring as the ultimate accessory.
