Melania Trump sometimes gets 'repulsed' by husband, says POTUS' ex-aide Omarosa: 'It's a very strange marriage'
One of President Donald Trump's former aides has claimed First Lady Melania Trump is sometimes "repulsed" by her husband. 46-year-old Omarosa Manigault Newman met Trump in 2004 while appearing on his show 'The Apprentice'. In January 2017, Trump appointed her as assistant to the President and director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison. However, she was fired in December that year over "money and integrity issues" as well as "inappropriate use of company vehicles."
Omarosa has since penned a tell-all book titled, 'Unhinged', to share an insider's perspective of the goings-on in the Trump White House. According to her, the President and his legal team has attempted to prevent the book from being published.
During an appearance on 'Lorraine' on October 27, Omarosa said what she observed in the 17 years of knowing the Trumps would "make your head spin." Furthermore, she alleged that Melania, 50, and her husband, 74, share a "very strange" relationship where they "sometimes like each other." "It's a very strange marriage," she said. "I'm very cautious to comment on the dynamics of a marriage because you never know what goes on behind closed doors. But I have known this couple since they were dating, they got married a year after 'The Apprentice' aired. What I have observed in the last 17 years would make your head spin. Sometimes they like each other but sometimes she is repulsed by him."
According to Omarosa, the first lady's feelings for the president were made clear last week when she purportedly appeared to pull her hand away from her husband after the final presidential debate. While many dismissed it as a non-event, some thought they had witnessed a moment of tension between the first couple. Omarosa, for one, is confident that Melania "smacked [her hand] away" from Trump.
"It was a crazy journey," she told the breakfast TV show about her book. "I have known Trump for 17 years and wanted to take people on a journey and let them see what Donald Trump is like behind the curtain. Unfortunately, if you speak out and speak truth to power, he will try to have an injunction. So his team of lawyers tried to stop it being published."
When asked whether she had any regrets about working for the Trump administration, she said she didn't want to reject an opportunity to "serve her country once again" after reportedly having worked in the office of Vice President Al Gore during the Clinton administration in the 1990s. Omarosa claimed there "had to be an adult in the room" who could focus on policy while Trump was in office and that she didn't take the decision to work for him "lightly."
"I think it's an important question," she said. "But any time you have an opportunity to serve your country, you have to do that. He is off, he is a little crazy, but there has to be an adult in the room to help guide this country. This is the second administration I’d worked for, so when I was asked to serve my country again I didn’t take it lightly."
Omarosa believes Biden will most likely win the presidency on November 3, saying Trump had "squandered the opportunity" to heal the division in the country. "After 20 years in politics I can say it makes me really sad to see the division in our nation," she said. "I expected we would unify the country in some way, but I can honestly tell you Donald Trump has squandered that opportunity. There is so much negativity in the country, I cannot wait to see new leadership and someone who will take our country forward," she added.
