Melania asked to defend Greta Thunberg just like she did for her own son after Trump mocks teen activist

After Time magazine announced Thunberg as Person of The Year for 2019, POTUS tweeted, "So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!"
UPDATED DEC 12, 2019

Just an hour after President Donald Trump attacked teen activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter on Thursday, December 12, claiming that she had anger management problems, the terms "BeBest" and "Barron" started trending on the social media platform.

Mocking the Swedish climate activist after she was named Time magazine's "Person of The Year" for 2019, POTUS tweeted, "So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!"

Trump, who was named Person of the Year in 2016 after winning the historic presidential election, has since criticized the magazine for passing him up in the years that followed.

The hypocrisy behind Trump's attack was so obvious that people started using the hashtag "BeBest" to remind first lady Melania Trump that days after she admonished one of the legal scholars testifying at the president's impeachment inquiry hearing for mentioning her son Barron's name, her own husband had gone after a teen on a digital platform.

It is important to note that one of the objectives listed in the White House's official "Be Best" website is to fight against cyberbullying - something that Twitter users were quick to point out.

"I'm starting to think Melanie's #BeBest campaign isn't working very well," one user wrote, while another noted, "So ridiculous. Where's @FLOTUS to remind her husband to #BeBest? Thought it was bad to attack minors? A grown man bullying a 16-year-old... Don't ever chill Greta. Also keep sailing bc that's pretty cool."

The website read: "When children learn positive online behaviors early-on, social media can be used in productive ways and can effect positive change. Mrs. Trump believes that children should be both seen and heard, and it is our responsibility as adults to educate and reinforce to them that when they are using their voices—whether verbally or online—they must choose their words wisely and speak with respect and compassion."

There were also others who demanded the first lady to raise her voice against her husband's attack on Greta, just like she did for her own son.

"We are all waiting for Melania Trump to publicly call out Donald Trump for bullying 16-year-old Greta Thunberg in such a sexist and nasty way. Come on, fake First Lady. #BeBest or something," a person commented.

Another wrote: "And silence from @FLOTUS who ran to Barron's defense last week. Clearly the only child she was and will ever defend and care about is her own. So much for #bebest". A third commented: "Nobody is allowed to mention Barron Trump’s name, but the President can attack a 16 year old with Aspergers? #ThursdayThoughts #BeBest"
