Predominantly lying low in the background ever since the now infamous Megxit, Meghan Markle has not been vocal about the move to step down from her duty as a royal. However, a moving speech to the students of Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham for the school's Women's Day celebrations may have changed all that.

Phil Dampier, a royal expert who has written about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has said that the speech was a clear snub against the royal family, given their recent spat.

The Duchess of Sussex was filmed getting out of a car and greeting teachers at the school she had been invited to give a speech. The speech was to mark International Women's Day.

She told the students of the school to "fight for what you believe in," later adding, "No matter how small you might feel, no matter what color you are, no matter what gender you are, you have a voice and you certainly have the right to speak up for what is right."

"I encourage and empower each of you to really stand in your truth, to stand for what is right," she added.

She also took the time to address the boys of Robert Clack Upper School, telling them to "value, appreciate and protect" the women in their lives. She asked them to set a good example for "some men who are not seeing it the same way."

According to The Sun, Phil Dampier said, "This is a clear signal that she felt she was standing up for herself when she quit the Royal Family."

The couple's child, Archie, did not join them on the journey back to the UK, nor will he be attending any of the final royal engagements, according to The Express.

The 93-year-old Queen is said to have revealed her "worst fear" is not seeing Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor again, fearing she will not be able to have a relationship with her great-grandchild as he grows up away from the royal family.
