Emmys 2018 backlash: "Hannah Gatsby saved this show," say disappointed fans

While Rudolph and Armisen enjoy a widespread fan-following, the duo's mistimed recurring bits during the Emmy awards has left many fans wondering if this was the wisest decision.

The 70th Annual Emmy Awards are underway at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and it looks like fans are not quite pleased with hosting duo Michael Che and Colin Jost.

The 'Saturday Night Live' stars, who kickstarted the 2018 Emmys with a slew of political jokes, have been in the eye of the storm for quite some time now - thanks to their callous remarks about the awards show ahead of Monday night's Emmys (September 17) - and now their performance as the event's hosts is also under the scanner. But more so because of the bizarre production strategy, as a result of which, every now and then the camera pans to comedians Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen - who are serving as the secondary hosts for the night.
