'Mayans MC' season 2: Release date, plot, cast, trailer, and everything else about the 'Sons of Anarchy' spinoff series
'Mayans MC' is finally coming back for its second season since it first premiered in 2018. The spin-off of the hugely popular FX drama 'Sons of Anarchy', created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, takes place in the same fictional universe as its parent show and deals with the Sons' rivals-turned-allies, the Mayans Motorcycle Club.

Plot
Mayans M.C. takes place four years after the events of 'Sons of Anarchy' and is set hundreds of miles away in the fictional California border town of Santo Padre. The series focuses on the struggles of Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes, a prospect in the charter of the Mayan M.C. based on the U.S.-Mexico border. EZ is the gifted son of a proud Mexican family, whose American dream was snuffed out by cartel violence. Now, his need for vengeance drives him toward a life he never intended and can never escape.

J.D. Pardo as Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes
J.D. Pardo plays the role of EZ Reyes, a prospect for the Mayans MC, and the brother of Angel Reyes. He is the son of Felipe Reyes (Edward James Olmos). He is best known for his role of Edward Araujo, Jr./Gwen Amber Rose Araujo in the 'A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story.' He has also worked on the sci-fi series 'Revolution.'
Sarah Bolger as Emily Thomas
Bolger plays the role of Emily Thomas, EZ's childhood sweetheart. The actress is known for her work on 'In America', 'Stormbreaker', 'The Spiderwick Chronicles' and 'Emelie'. For her work on 'The Tudors', a role for which she won an IFTA award.
Creators
The crime drama series is created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James. Noberto Barba and Sutter will be serving as executive producers and Elgin James will be the co-executive producer. The series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

Sutter is known for producing, writing, and directing 'The Shield.' He also appeared on the show as hitman Margos Dezerian. He created 'Sons of Anarchy' writing, producing and directing the show. He also played a role on 'Sons of Anarchy' - of the incarcerated club member Otto Delaney. For the research for the show, Sutter spent time with members of an outlaw motorcycle club in Northern California.

A former member of the Friends Stand United (a US anti-fascist, anti-racist and anti-drug group, which has been classified by several law enforcement agencies as a gang), Elgin has directed 'Little Birds', and 'Low Riders' (writer).

The upcoming second season picks up roughly six-eight months after the finale of the first season. Ahead of the premiere, FX has shared some sneak peeks of the upcoming season, which includes some pretty haunting images that tease of the conflict that is due to come.
Earlier this years at the San Diego Comic Con, the cast of the series dropped huge hints about a "bloody", "darker" season 2. "If you liked season one, season two is a lot darker," Edward James Olmos who plays the role of Felipe Reyes, a once-strong Mexican patriarch, and Angel (Clayton Cardenas) and EZ's (J. D. Pardo) father, had said during the 'Mayans MC' panel at SDCC. "There's a chance we're going to see some 'Sons of Anarchy' members for sure," creator Elgin James had said.
