Marvel drops teaser for 'WandaVision', 'The Falcon And The Winter Soldier' and 'Loki' sending fans into frenzy
You know it's a good day when Marvel drops the first look for anything. And this time, it's for their upcoming Disney+ series, 'WandaVision', 'The Falcon And The Winter Soldier' and 'Loki'.
Fans have been breathlessly waiting for news about the shows, and photos from the sets that have been sneakily making it to the internet are just adding to the feverish hype.
A little refresher: At the end of 'Avengers Endgame', Captain America (Chris Evans) bequeaths his iconic shield to Sam Wilson aka Falcon, after living out the rest of his life peacefully with the love of his life, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell).
The new show, 'The Falcon And The Winter Soldier' sees Falcon and Bucky aka the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) teaming up against an altogether-familiar villain Zelmo.
In the few seconds we see of the promo, Falcon swings the shield at a tree while Bucky pulls out a gun. While the plot of the show is kept under wraps, it promises to be high on some thrilling action. Not to mention that Falcon has upgraded his fashion sense too.
Regarding 'WandaVision', it's just as funky and weird as actors Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen promised. Again, while we don't know much about the plot, what we do know is that there will be a fair bit of time traveling that will involve the 1950s.
Wanda (Olsen) is seen in attires and hairstyles from that era, while Vision (Bettany) says "Wanda, welcome home". There are quick black-and-white montages of the two clad in wedding outfits, and a brief moment of Wanda saying, "Vision residence!".
The show gives off a sitcom-like feel and true to the actors' words, it seems to be going in a direction quite different from what we're used to.
The last we saw of Vision was that the mind stone was ripped out of his head by Thanos (Josh Brolin), just after he had died a satisfying death at the hands of Wanda, in order to save the world from Thanos.
Wanda and Vision have a bizarre love story in the comics, to the extent that it is twisted and toxic, involving Vision dying several times and some demon children. However, in the films, they seemed to have a rather different relationship. Would the show touch upon the comic storylines? It remains to be seen.
But wait, that's not all. We get a glimpse of everyone's favorite villain or rather anti-hero, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who is wearing his evil grin along with a t-shirt and he says, "I'm going to burn this place to the ground."
Loki had been unceremoniously killed by Thanos in the first 20 minutes of 'Avengers: Infinity War'. Yet, we saw a glimpse of him in 'Avengers Endgame', during the remaining Avengers 'Time Heist', as he takes the Tesseract and vanishes into another timeline.
There's no denying that Loki is one of the most popular villains of Marvel, and his series is said to tie into 'Doctor Strange Into The Multiverse Of Madness' as well.
The shows are expected to all drop this year and fans cannot wait.
