'Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition': Medina reveals his mom tried selling his brother, leaves fans shocked

Couples come on 'Marriage Boot Camp' with hopes of fixing the issues plaguing their relationship. These issues range from trust issues to abuse. The ongoing season of the show features hip-hop stars, alongside their partners, trying to work through their issues. Dr Ish Major and Judge Lynn Toller organize various drills and exercises for the couples, which help them further identify the root cause of these issues, and work on resolving them.

On the latest episode of 'Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition', the couples were made to revisit their childhood traumas to see how that was affecting their current relationships. The contestants were given a toy car, and they had to paint or draw words or figures that related to their painful childhood memories. This opened the pandora's box of the harrowing experiences that all these contestants experienced in their formative years. Everybody's stories ended up moving us to tears, especially Phaedra Parks's boyfriend Medina Islam's.

Through the course of this exercise, Medina reveals to Dr Ish that he has become extremely understanding and considerate due to his childhood experiences. When Dr Ish prods him further, the former rapper then reveals about how his mother was suffering from schizophrenia. He explains how he had to be extremely patient and understanding towards her and her condition even at such a tender age. But one incident that stuck with him is of an instance when his mother tried selling his brother at a mall.

Medina explains how his mother heard strange voices and theories of people trying to hurt her. One day while the mother and sons were at a mall, she tried selling Medina's brother at the mall. After that incident, she was reportedly institutionalized. Although she was gone, that memory continued to deeply trouble the reality star. 

When fans heard Medina's story, they were shocked and amazed at all that he had gone through. A fan tweeted, "Wait! What?! Medina’s mom tried to sell his brother?!! #HipHopBootCamp."
