Marquis Ventura who attacked actor Rick Moranis, beating him to the ground outside his Upper West Side apartment in October this year, has now been charged with an even more violent, unprovoked attack on a Bronx subway couple, whom he attacked in April this year. As per reports Marquis Ventura, 35, reportedly pulled out a knife on Ashley Davis, 34, and her husband, Glenn Smith, also 34, before beating and punching the couple down during the alleged incident on the subway that occurred on April 13 this year.

“I could see he was crazy,” the victim in the April 13 attack, mom and restaurant manager Ashley Davis, told The Post. “I was telling the police — This guy’s not right. This guy’s got a mental illness.” As per online court records, Ventura is charged with misdemeanor assault in the April 13 attack. “This dude just randomly started beating the crap out of me and my husband,” she said. “He pulled a knife on my husband. He punched my face. I thought he broke my eye socket and jaw,” Ashley said. “This guy was just kicking and hitting him,” she mentioned to The Post. “It was crazy. It happened so fast. This guy was just intent on assaulting us.”She further mentioned that she thought “my husband was dying. His shoulder was so badly dislocated it was down to his belly.” However, Ventura is counter-claiming that the couple attacked him with the knife that her husband picked after Ventura dropped. As per The Post, the attacker Ventura is charged with misdemeanor menacing with a weapon, court records show.

The prosecutors have offered to drop charges on both sides but Ashley said, “I was like no way. I want them to throw the book at this guy.” Ashley Davis who has been impacted severely after the attack is said to have needed psychiatric care after the attack. She can no longer bring herself to set foot in a subway, she stated. “I feel very, very bad for him,” she mentioned actor Moranis who has been attacked by the same attacker, adding that she’s a big fan of the film series ‘Honey, I Shrunk The Kids’ in which Moranis acted. “Neither of us should have to go through what we did”, she said.

The 67-year-old Rick Moranis was attacked by Ventura on October 1 when he was walking near Central Park West on the Upper West Side. At that time, a man(Ventura) who was walking by struck him in the head, knocking him to the ground. As per Daily Mail, the police have released footage of the attack with ‘Ghostbusters' star Moranis in pain in his head, back, and hip.

Ventura was arrested on November 14 at 96th Street and Broadway subway station. The attacker who has been a Manhattan resident has a history of 13 arrests, including 5 for felonies. New York Police Department(NYPD) wrote on Twitter after they caught the attacker,  “Thanks to an eagle-eyed sergeant from NYPD Transit, this suspect has been apprehended and charged.” They also posted a video that shows the attack on Moranis that happened on October 1.
