Mandy Moore is pregnant. The American singer, songwriter, and actor and her husband Taylor Goldsmith, who is also a musician, are expecting their first child together. The couple announced on Instagram Thursday, September 24.

Moore wrote alongside three black and white photos of the two of them, with Goldsmith’s hand on her baby bump, “Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021.” Goldsmith too shared similar photos with the same caption.

In 2017, talking about her character Rebecca Pearson in ‘This Is Us’, Moore said, "I feel a kinship with her. [What] I was most concerned about was feeling maternal, not having children myself. But being part of a project like this definitely makes my ovaries start kicking. I want kids sooner than later.”

Goldsmith proposed to Moore in September 2017 with a gorgeous custom Irene Neuwirth ring featuring a round-cut diamond on a rose gold band. “I've never been someone who wears a lot of jewelry,” she said at that time. “When my boyfriend and I started talking about getting engaged last year, I told him I didn't want a big ring. I figured we could just pick out some pretty bands together. So you can imagine how surprised I was when he proposed with this beautiful ring in the fall!”

A year later, the two got married in an intimate backyard ceremony in November 2018. “Yesterday was pretty magical. I laughed, I cried and I danced real hard,” she said about the intimate wedding ceremony that took place in the backyard of the couple's home in Los Angeles at sundown in front of family and close friends.

“I was still dealing with the trauma of my divorce when we started dating. Taylor was steadfast in his support -- that was a huge sign for me. He makes me melt. I can imagine no better partner,” she previously told Glamour in 2018, a month before the wedding. “He's going to be the most tremendous father. I view the past as a stepping-stone to get me where I am today. I would gladly weather all of that a million times over if it brought me to Taylor again.”

Back in August, Moore wrote a long post about Goldsmith on Instagram on the occasion of his 35th birthday. She said, “I'm not sure what I did in a past life to deserve you but it must have been something big. You are undeniable. Your inherent light, humility, grace, humor, and compassion are contagious and I feel lucky to get the chance to bask in your goodness with outstretched arms. Thank you for trusting me with your heart. Thank you for being the best travel companion, crossword puzzler, songwriting partner, pet parent, and my favorite person. 2020 has certainly been a wild ride but I really can't wait for what this next year will bring.”

After the pregnancy announcement, several celebrities congratulated them and wished them luck on Instagram. British model Harley Viera-Newton wrote, “Congrats!!!” while fashion writer Hillary Kerr said, “MANDY!!! Congrats to you three!” Actor Hilary Duff said, “Little baby boy Goldsmith,” along with a heart emoji. Author Samantha Irby said, “congratulations mandy!!”
