Man's charge upgraded to murder after toddler he assaulted dies
The charge against a North Carolina man who assaulted his girlfriend's 22-month-old baby were upgraded to murder after the toddler died two days after being admitted to hospital with horrific injuries.
Twenty three-year-old Michael Buchanan appeared in court on February 18 afternoon, where he was read the upgraded charges in the death of baby Torrance Adams.
According to reports, Buchanan reportedly took care of Quise McCall's young children when she was away at work. The child's mother posted on social media that she returned home on February 14 and found that her son was choking and not breathing before the paramedics were called to their home in northeast Raleigh.
The toddler suffered from a skull fracture and, according to an arrest warrant that was issued on the case, bleeding in the brain.
