'Mama June': Will the much-awaited June-Pumpkin reunion end in tears of joy or will it push them apart?
WeTV is setting up the stage for yet another explosive episode of 'Mama June: Family Crisis' where June Edith "Mama June" Shannon finally meets her daughter Lauryn Michelle "Pumpkin" Shannon. But it's not going to be a regular mother-daughter reunion, it never is with them. Especially, after June went behind Pumpkin's back to sell off the house that she would inherit eventually.
In today's time, owning a piece of land or a house is considered being financially secure. The house was a huge asset and to be robbed of it without any intimation is not just shocking but also heartbreaking because it was her mother who turned her back on her. But did June have any other option? She had to get rid of the "bad people" who were chasing Pumpkin and her family, including sister Alana Frances "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, for the drug money June owed them. The only escape route was to have the house sold off.
Previously, June hid her face in a hoodie jacket and ran into the car (parked outside the courthouse) to avoid talking to her sister Joanne "Doe Doe" Shannon. Was she ashamed of her wrongdoings? We'll never know but in tonight's episode, she has finally agreed to meet up with Pumpkin after a long break. However, Pumpkin seems to be apprehensive and has one condition: June cannot be on drugs when they meet at the show's production office. "What's the point of sitting down with her if she's on every type of drug you can name," Pumpkin tells Doe Doe.
Dr Ish Major, psychiatrist and TV host, will be making an appearance too. In a sit-down chat with Pumpkin, he figures she is filled with rage against her mother for what she had put her through. Will they be able to iron out their differences? Will June be able to explain herself and defend her actions over the last few weeks? The answers lie in tonight's episode, which will also focus on Honey Boo Boo's custody issue. Jennifer Thompson and Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson will reach out to Pumpkin with formal adoption papers.
