'MacGyver' Season 4 Episode 3 Preview: The team races to save a plane from falling out of the sky

It looks like someone, probably the mysterious organization we've been hearing so much about since the start of the season, found a way to poison the pilot and cause the crash.

After thwarting a biochemical attack on Los Angeles and an attempt to hijack the US nuclear defense system, Angus 'Mac' MacGyver (Lucas Till) and his team are taking to the skies. In 'MacGyver' Season 4 Episode 3 'Kid + Plane + Cable + Truck', MacGyver and the team have to race against time yet again to stop a plane from crashing and killing everyone on board.

The synopsis and promo released for the episode reveal that the emergency happens when the pilot has a heart attack but it's really not as simple as just that. It looks like someone, probably the mysterious organization we've been hearing so much about since the start of the season, found a way to poison the pilot and cause the crash.

Right now, it's unclear why these shadowy terrorists are conducting these attacks and targeting the Phoenix Foundation so much but Episode 2 did reveal their logo so perhaps more information might become available in Episode 3. Whatever their intentions may be, MacGyver isn't going to get much time to think about the problem while trying to save the people on board the plane before it crashes.

To make matters worse, the trailer also reveals that the plane's possibly sole passenger (we don't see anyone else in the promo) is a young boy who may be the actual target of the attack. So we know where the 'kid' and the 'plane' in the title come from but we'll just have to wait and see where the "Cable" and the "Truck" fit into the picture.

Here's the official synopsis for the episode: "MacGyver and the team board a plane that’s mid-flight when the pilot has a heart attack, and discover the medical emergency was intentional."

'MacGyver' Season 4 airs new episodes every Friday at 8/7 c only on CBS.
