'MacGyver' Season 4 Episode 12 Preview: Has Mac gone rogue and joined Codex for real?
After his close encounter with Clive / The Merchant (James Callis), it looks like Angus "Mac" MacGyver (Lucas Till) might be breaking bad.
'MacGyver' Season 4 Episode 12 'Loyalty + Family + Rogue + Hellfire' will see Mac and Riley Davis (Tristin Mays) joining the global terrorist organization Codex but there's bound to be more going on here right?
It's hard to believe that Mac would really sign up for Codex's doomsday plan to kill a quarter of the Earth's population but it looks like that's what he'll be doing in the episode. 'Loyalty + Family + Rogue + Hellfire' will also see the return of Jeri Ryan as Mac's aunt and Codex's leader Titan / Gwendolyn Hayes.
We're really hoping that this is all part of some elaborate ruse to destroy Codex from the inside but Mac has been struggling with his own dark side for a while so there's always the chance he might actually go too far and join the bad guys. It probably won't happen but the chance exists.
Riley joining Mac is an interesting move since we would have expected Mac's girlfriend Desi Nguyen (Levy Tran) to join him on such a dangerous undertaking.
Things are bound to get complicated, especially since the last episode revealed that Riley has feelings for Mac, and for all we know, working for Codex might bring up some repressed feelings from Mac's side as well.
In any case, this does look like it's going to be an episode to watch out for and we can only guess how Mac's new villainous turn will play out.

Guest stars appearing in the episode include Jeri Ryan, Zach McGowan, Amber Skye Noyes, Sean Blakemore, Monica Garcia Bradley, Mary Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, John Paul Steele, and Martinez. The episode was written by Jim Adler and directed by Geoff Shotz.
Here's the official synopsis for 'Loyalty + Family + Rogue + Hellfire': "The Phoenix team is forever altered when MacGyver’s Aunt Gwen (Jeri Ryan) gets into his head about family and connection and convinces Mac and Riley to join Codex. Also, Matty and Russ take their concerns about Codex to the White House."
'MacGyver' Season 4 airs new episodes every Friday at 8 pm ET on CBS.
