'Luxe For Less' on HGTV: Who is Kai Williamson? Designer to bring her innovative artistry to interiors show
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: HGTV gears up to launch a brand new show featuring some of the brightest minds from the design industry. The new series, 'Luxe For Less’, is another starry addition to the platform’s vast list of renovation shows. But this series will bring a new twist to luxury renovation. It will feature a team of designers refurbishing spaces into plush resort-like structures but with a minimal budget.
Helmed by interior designing genius Michel Boyd, the mind behind the SMITHBOYD studio who has starred on Bravo’s ‘Buying It Blind’, the series will follow him and his innovative team as they remodel their client’s homes into beautiful and luxe abodes. All of it will be achieved without the hefty price tag that usually defines luxe interiors. Michel’s team comprises design professionals Kai Williamson, Laura Green, and his ‘Rock The Block’ partner Anthony Elle. Michel has known the three throughout his career and invited them personally to be a part of his team in ‘Luxe For Less’. So, while viewers are waiting with bated breaths for the show to premiere, here are the details of one of the designers, Kai Williamson.

Who is Kai Williamson?
Kai Williamson is a design professional and interior architect. She is the principal and creative director of her interior design firm Studio 7 Design Group. According to Kai’s website, “Studio 7 Design Group is a full service interior design firm specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects. The firm provides clients with innovative, dynamic and functional design solutions that represent livable luxury. Studio 7 works closely with clients to establish creative direction and project goals. The full service design model utilized allows the firm to be effective in the architecture, construction, renovation, restoration, and interior decoration phases of all projects."
Kai’s client roster includes commercial and residential sites in Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, New York Area, Alabama, and Miami. She and her firm have also designed interiors for comedian and actor Kevin Hart’s quick service restaurant “Hart House,” located in Monrovia. Currently, Kai is in the process of working on the actor’s other upcoming restaurants.
Kai’s design sense and aesthetics can be defined as having a modernist, clean and sleek approach. Her work reflects her luxe sense of style and artistic mind. Her Instagram page reflects the designer’s elegant tastes, and one can observe that she is a fashion and architecture enthusiast. She also actively works to create pathways between African and African American Culture & Engagement.
Besides interior design, Kai loves to travel and visits many international locations for business and pleasure. She even attends international fashion and couture shows. Kai has known ‘Luxe For Less’ host Michel as an industry friend for a while. She will assist him in the new series as he repurposes furniture, purchases easily repairable “scratch and dent” appliances, and employs savvy shopping techniques to bring upscale and luxe design within reach.
