'Long Island Medium': Theresa Caputo turns a pastor, a rabbi, and a Buddhist into believers

Caputo helped the three connect with their loved after initial skepticism that their individual beliefs might come in the way of making a connection
PUBLISHED NOV 16, 2019

In this week's episode of 'Long Island Medium', Theresa Caputo enters a room with a pastor, a rabbi, and a Buddhist and hopes that they are open to her thoughts and beliefs. Caputo worried that their beliefs might get into her way of carrying readings smoothly but was open to putting forward what she was feeling.

Caputo first started her interaction with Brian, who is a pastor, and helped him reconnect with his dad, who he lost when he was 12. Brian recalled that he never got a chance to say goodbye to his dad as his mother did not want him to meet his father at the hospital or attend his funeral. Brian's parents were separated at that time which made it impossible for him to meet his father at the time of his death. Despite this, Brian made sure that he kept the Bible which his father used close to him as the last thing that kept him connected to his father.

Caputo acknowledged that his father was sorry for not spending enough time with him and added that he was aware of the Bible that Brain always carried with him. Listening to these words, Brian tried hard to fight his tears but felt at ease to know that his father was watching over him.

Caputo then moved on to Neil, a rabbi, and spoke about him losing his grandfather who he considered the most important person in his life. Upon hearing about his grandfather, Neil became emotional and revealed that he was 13 when he lost him. Neil and his grandfather shared a special bond as he was like a father figure for Neil. Neil's parents separated when he was young and since then his grandfather raised him. He added that he was like a "teacher" to him.

Caputo told Neil that his grandfather is aware that Neil named his son after him. Surprised with these words, Neil was quick to believe Caputo and her gift as he added that he wanted to honor his grandfather and the best way to do that was by naming his son after him.

After making two skeptics believe in her it was time for Caputo to see if Pav, a Buddhist, believed in her too. Caputo spoke about seeing a celebration and asked Pav about it. Pav stated that her grandfather had passed away two years ago and to honor him the family had thrown a celebration. Caputo was quick to remark that Pav's grandfather was present during the celebration and felt content to see everyone moving on in their lives.

However, Caputo won Pav's trust when she spoke about the tradition that is usually practiced in Buddhist cultures and which consists of staying silent for a certain time. Pav revealed that her mother and her aunt were currently following it and added that this was the moment she believed that Caputo was truly gifted.

'Long Island Medium' airs on Fridays at 9 pm on TLC.
