Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death left a big hole in the hearts of many people. The Supreme Court revealed that the cause of her death was metastatic cancer of the pancreas. She was 87. While people were still mourning her loss, President Donald Trump revealed that he would be looking into a list of candidates who would be suitable for the Supreme Court vacancy.

It was only a matter of seconds until he was slammed for his statement. However, President Trump got the support of Sen Lindsey Graham. He replied, "I fully understand where President @realDonaldTrump is coming from." After his tweet, the Internet was quick to point out the "hypocrisy" is his statement as they shared the comments made by him in 2018.

"If an opening comes in the last year of President Trump's term -- and the primary process has started, we'll wait until the next election," he said during The Atlantic Festival, as reported by The Hill. Many were quick to take it to social media to slam his statement as one wrote, "@harrisonjaime is awesome and Lady G sold his soul to the devil like 50 years ago."

"Lindsey Graham has NEVER been a man of his word. If he doesn’t keep his word on a SCOTUS nom, how do you expect him to uphold his promises as a Senator? South Carolina- if you value integrity, honor, decency, or truth- Lady G doesn’t deserve your vote," said another.

"This is why people hate politicians. You’re all liars and your word doesn’t mean sh*t. You said so yourself, Lady G, you don't want a President to select a replacement at the end of their term. Here we are with 45 days to the election and your tune changes. You are a terrible human," read another comment.

"Lady G Won’t give a sh*t if he looks like a liar. We just gotta press on our reps to not vote, that’s all we can do. Call your state reps to call your senators. Tell everyone you know to do the same," While another wrote, "FO Lady G! We have had just about enough of your hypocrisy and lies! Your OUT in less than 2 months & it will be a landslide unworthy of question or dispute! You will not be keeping PA red this time around KOMPRIMAT!"

The backlash over Graham's statement comes after Trump confirmed that he would be putting in a nominee soon as he said, "I will be putting forth a nominee next week. It will be a woman," he said at a campaign rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina, as reported by BBC. "I think it should be a woman because I actually like women much more than men."

His supporters were happy about the statement as they started chanting "fill the seats". As of now, Amy Coney Barrett and Barbara Lagoa are the two candidates that people think pose a chance to be elected. While Trump has been backed by many people, Democrats think it would be a bad decision to elect someone ahead of the elections.
