'Life After Lockup': Will Shawn and Destinie continue as an engaged couple? Here's why it may not be possible
Destinie and Shawn's relationship has reached a point where they seem to be looking for closure. She is on a completely different page while he is shocked to learn of the newer updates in her life, such as a new man, whom he had no idea about until a few weeks ago. Clearly, this is leading to a rift and that's evident from the conversations they have been having lately.
A few weeks ago they got engaged after Destinie showed up for her court date. Although she was in a different mind frame and visibly worried about what could happen of the fresh charges that would be filed by the DA, Shawn was able to convince her that it's a good idea to get engaged.
However, does it look like they are going to continue with their engagement? Possibly not because Destinie is back in jail. A Soapdirt report states that she was locked up on charges of "escape, false impersonation and failure to appear on a felony charge." And, there's a good chance her term will last anywhere between one and four years.
Even if she would not have had to go back to prison, it was highly unlikely that they would make it to the altar. Destinie and Kelly (Shawn's former partner with whom he has six kids) don't see eye to eye but Shawn wishes they would talk things out. Even though they agreed, their first meeting didn't go too well and sort of touched all the wrong nerves for everyone.
Kelly was upset that Shawn allowed Destinie to talk to her in that manner while the latter thought Shawn should seek permission before talking to Kelly. The idea was to arrive at an arrangement where the former couple can co-parent their kids while the newbies can get on with their life. That clearly didn't happen and the repercussions have been severe. Destinie left Shawn, drove away in his car to an undisclosed location and is now nowhere to be found.
