LeBron James is reportedly preparing to add yet another title to his already legendary portfolio of accolades on the basketball court -- the President of the United States.

After becoming three-time NBA champion, 16 times NBA All-Star, and four times league MVP, James now plans to hold the top office in the country. That said, his ambitions were revealed on Sunday after a report emerged that he already had a plan to run for the White House, Breitbart reports.

The 35-year-old NBA legend has spoken out on a number of social and political issues in recent years, many of which have impacted his fellow players both on and off the court. Furthermore, James has often been touted as having the required skills and reputation to run for president sometime in the future. However, it was never considered seriously until the NBA All-Stars bout last weekend.

NBA All-Star and Lakers teammate DeMarcus Cousins said on an NBA podcast that James is already dropping private hints about the top job. Speaking on the 'All The Smoke' podcast, Cousins said James planned "to do it the right way" after claiming he had pushed the Ohio native to seriously consider a future in politics.

And after arriving back in Los Angeles last week after the All-Stars event in Chicago, James was forced to respond to the rumor mill.  While he denied the speculation outright, it did not do much to stop the swirling rumors.

“No, I’m not considering it,” James said.

However, a report emerged just a few days later that sources close to the Lakers superstar claimed he was planning to run for office at some point after he retired from the NBA. “FYI: I heard today from someone close to LeBron who said he HAS seriously considered running for President of the United States someday,” Fox Sports commentator Skip Bayless posted on Twitter.

“It’s a plan of his but not yet a goal," Bayless claimed a source close to James told him.

Whether the basketball sensation considers a run or not, Lakers’ coach Frank Vogel openly spoke of James’ presidential suitability last week.

“LeBron’s one of the best leaders I’ve ever been around,” Vogel said. “I don’t know what his knowledge is of politics. Obviously that would be the first thing that comes into question. But I don’t know how to say it any stronger than he’s one of the best leaders I’ve been around. So I think he would obviously be great in that if that were to happen.”

In 2018, LeBron refused to rule out the possibility of running for president. And while the Small Forward has never officially declared his political views, he has thrown his support behind Democratic candidates -- including Hillary Clinton -- in recent years.

In October, James was the subject of a major backlash after he appeared to criticize Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey for publicly supporting democratic protesters in Hong Kong. James' comments subsequently sparked a wave of criticism from Hong Kong residents for failing to get behind their protest against the Chinese government.
